A Date with WLT Starz

Kuala Lumpur, June 26, 2009 – Hong Kong TVB artistes Moses Chan, Wayne Lai, Halina Tam and Wong Cho Lam are here in Malaysia to promote variety and infotainment programmes aired over Astro Wah Lai Toi (Channel 311).

The four stars will be making appearances in the event themed “A Date with WLT Starz” organised by Astro Wah Lai Toi at Cheras Leisure Mall and Sungei Wang Plaza respectively. Fans will be able to meet the four stars up-close during the event and the stars will be playing games with the audience during the event. Over the years, Astro has enriched its content to include a wider range of programmes to cater to the needs of its customers. In addition to popular drama serials, premium variety and infotainment programmes appeal to viewers of all ages and are well accepted among Astro customers.

In this effort, Astro Wah Lai Toi is pleased to invite these four stars to Malaysia to promote a series of variety and infotainment programmes which they play a role in; “Coffee Confidential” a coffee-centric infotainment programme, “Destiny and Beyond” an astrology and feng shui programme, “The Master of Monkey King” a documentary exploring the classic Journey to the West pilgrimage and “Off Pedder” a sitcom set in a publishing firm about a power struggle between men and women to lead Chao Magazine.

Coffee Confidential
Moses Chan is enchanted with the scent of coffee. For his debut, he goes around the world, including Kenya of East Africa, Italy, Denmark, Indonesia, Taiwan and hometown Hong Kong, as to seek for famous coffee, feeling its sound, fun, wonder and philosophy. From harvest to flavors, experts to secrets, Moses learns from all places about the techniques of making coffee and exalts dream and fascination of its wide range of varieties.

The Master of Monkey King
The classic tale “Journey to the West” is a Chinese household legend and it has been translated into countless languages around the world. However, have you ever felt curios if the story matches with the history? The monk Xuanzang was actually an illegal immigrant? What temptations did he conquer along the journey? Were the Monkey King (Sun Wokung) and Pig Monster (Zhu Bajie) respresented in the real life? The five-episode special explores the pilgrimage and the myth along the way in a different perspective. Off Pedder (Sitcom)
On Pedder Street, there have been rumours of a competitive business woman, Ivy Yan Seung (Teresa Mo), coming to steal power away from Susan Ka So-Shan (Elaine Jin) at Chao Magazine. The two women must bribe their staff to join their side in order to gain the leadership of the firm.
Beside these two women, are two men who also hold strong power in the firm, Yim Yue-Tai (Stephen Au) and Ryan Yu Ka-Sing (Wayne Lai). How will these four individuals affect Pedder Street and who will become the ultimate leader of Chao Magazine…?
